Highlights
- Build the condition that decides when a block is included from a field, a test and a value, and see it checked as you type.
- A condition over two questions now holds on the one that is answered, rather than wait for both.
- A field used only in a document's title is now asked on the form and prints in the title.
- Selecting text in a code editor shows the selection again.
A small update to document drafting in Ferrith Chat, mostly around the condition that decides when a building block is included, with a fix to the code editors.
What's new
- Ferrith Chat. The Include when field in the block editor has a Build… button: pick a field, a test and a value for each line, choose whether all or any of the tests must hold, and the condition is written for you. The builder opens on the condition as written, and a yes / no question is tested with is / is not and Yes / No. The field itself now highlights its parts, offers your fields as you type, and is checked as you type: anything wrong shows under the field, and a clean condition says which questions it reads. The block language reference now has a section on conditions.
Changes to be aware of
- Ferrith Chat. A condition over two questions joined by any of them now holds as soon as one of them is answered and matches; a question nobody has answered yet counts as a non-match. Until now a block waited until every question the condition reads had an answer. In the same way, a condition joined by all of them can set a block aside as soon as one answer rules it out, rather than wait for the rest. A condition on a single question still waits for its answer.
- API. A field used only in a document type's title now appears in a document template's questions and is accepted with the other answers. With
stricton, leaving it unanswered now counts as a missing field.
Fixed
- A field used only in a document type's title did not appear in its form group, and the title printed without it. It is now asked as an optional question, in its group, and the title carries the answer.
- Publishing a new block whose condition had a mistake, then fixing it and publishing again, failed with a message that the key already existed. The second publish now publishes the block.
- Selecting text in a code editor, a block's text, a document type's header or footer, or a workflow's YAML, showed no highlight. The selection now shows, in light and dark mode.
