Fair use policy
Some of what Ferrith sells is a capacity ("10 GB of storage"), and some of it is deliberately open-ended ("unlimited worker agents"). This policy says exactly what happens at each limit, and what "unlimited" means. limits stop new additions, they never delete or lock away what is already there.
This policy is part of the agreement between Ferrith and the subscribing organisation (the Terms of Service, section 8).
1. Storage
- Your plan includes a storage allowance, shown on the pricing page and in the account portal; storage packs are available to raise this. The size of the files your workspace stores (every version of every document) counts towards this storage.
- At or over the allowance, new uploads are refused but nothing is ever deleted. Reading, chat, search and export all continue to work. Admins can see the workspace's usage against its allowance, and users will see a warning as the workspace approaches it.
- Delete documents you no longer need (emptying the recycle bin to free the space) to reclaim storage, or add a storage pack from the account portal. Both work immediately.
2. After a downgrade
Moving to a smaller plan never deletes your data. If your workspace holds more than the new allowance, all existing documents remain but you will be unable to add more until you free up space.
We leave that state alone for a grace period of 60 days. If a workspace is still over its allowance after that, we will contact the Owner to agree a way forward, either reducing the stored data, or adding a storage pack. We do not delete customer data to enforce an allowance within the grace period. A workspace that remains substantially over its allowance long after we have notified the owner is a matter for the suspension provisions of the Terms of Service..
3. Worker agents and what "unlimited" means
The Automation plan's workflows use worker agents which are not currently sold by the seat. "Unlimited" carries a fair-use soft cap of 500 worker agents per workspace which should be beyond ordinary use. If the cap is reached, creating more workspace agents is refused with a message; if you genuinely need more, contact support@ferrith.ai and we will evaluate raising the limit for your workspace.
4. The API
- API access comes with your plan's request rate and daily usage allowances. These allowances are enforced automatically: a request over a limit gets a clear error naming the limit and when it resets.
- Limits are applied automatically per API key, and allowances belong to the workspace as a whole so using many keys at once does not multiply what your plan includes.
- Do not attempt to circumvent limits (for example by minting keys to multiply an allowance), share keys outside your organisation, or resell raw access to the API.
5. Automation and compute fairness
Workflows and analysis grids run within your plan's daily usage allowances, which are sized so that ordinary use of what the plan sells should not effect them. They exist to protect the service from runaway loops and abuse. If your legitimate use runs into a ceiling, contact support@ferrith.ai to evaluate raising the limits for your workspace.
6. How we enforce this
In every case above, the product enforces the limit mechanically: additions are refused with an explanation, and nothing you have made is automatically deleted/removed. Where a usage pattern looks like deliberate circumvention or abuse rather than ordinary use, we wil contact the workspace owner first; suspension under the Terms of Service is for serious and persistent cases.
